The Problem

Years of investments.
Failed partnerships.
Non-functional product.

This is the context that Flavius and Tamar, founders of Jobby, were trying to overcome when they reached out to Around25. It is a complicated endeavour to earn the trust of people that have been let down in the past. Luckily, we know the secret recipe.

Mission

Matching in minutes

Jobby’s mission is to replace the tedious CV application with a 5-minute straightforward application process: candidates fill in their details, which the platform’s algorithm uses to build a real-time compatibility score.
The Solution

Efficient and flawless execution

Jobby relies on a unique matching algorithm that is designed with compatibility and effectiveness in mind. On top of this, the app proposes a friendly pricing model for companies and HR agencies.

To make Jobby’s vision possible we took the new functionalities and designs and developed:
Functional specifications
Matching algorithm
API
Dashboard mockup
Six months from the initial kick-off calls we rebuilt Jobby into a fully functional platform.
Gamified dashboards for company and candidate profiles.
Company and candidate onboarding.
Social media login and in-built location.
Jobs search engine.
Refined job filtering.
Matching algorithm that calculates the compatibility score for each application.

List of applicants

Because the compatibility score is calculated in real time, recruiters are able to see the best-fitted applications at all times on the company dashboard.

For the candidates, this means they can immediately understand how they fit the job requirements, make adjustments, and prioritize their best fits.

We love the

Challenges

After over 20 years of working on hundreds of projects for clients all over the world we are no longer emotional when dealing with an impossible deadline.

COVID

Despite making major workforce and business decisions during COVID lockdown, we took on the project and assembled a team of 6 (developers, project manager, QA engineer).

Tight deadlines

To keep on track with the tight deadline, we added more people to the team, while increasing communication with the founders and being flexible in adjusting development flows.

Low trust

Gaining the founders' trust in our ability to deliver quality work. We took the time to listen and really understand what didn’t work out with their past partner, then show how we can fix the issues.

Results & Learnings

After launching the new Jobby website, we’re focusing on maintenance and performance until the end of 2020. Then we’re back with building the Jobby mobile app.

For us, this project isn’t successful only because we delivered on time and on budget, but also because it confirmed our approach with clients is the right one. In this case, it was important to:
Give the client access to all our tools and environments, update them frequently, and show complete transparency.
Spend extra time providing consultancy and testing.
Hit all the milestones.
This helped us build a strong rapport with the client: since they were open to trust our work, we were able to deliver no matter the challenges.
